With a focus on handprinted items, Starfangled Press is the place to shop local for original art, gifts, and souvenirs you just won’t find anywhere else - many of which are made right in the adjoining studio. Beautiful, funny, or unexpected, there is always something to delight you in our outstanding collection of art prints, greeting cards, t-shirts, tote bags, stickers, journals, and art supplies. 

In the Starfangled Press studio, artist-printmaker Kristen Necessary uses her love of traditional printmaking to put an old-fashioned twist on contemporary art and Americana; slinging ink and creating original art and gifts that help you connect with yourself and others. 

Inspired by life in the mountains of Central Appalachia and rooted in the creation of handmade original prints, Starfangled Press is heavily influenced by the techniques of traditional printmaking such as woodcut, etching, screenprint, and letterpress. All of the images for our artwork are hand-drawn, blocks and screens handcrafted, and each impression is individually printed by hand on a printing press in their studio. 

Visit on the right day and you may just find Kristen letterpress printing with a 100-year-old press, hand carving a block for a new woodcut print, or screenprinting your next favorite t-shirt.
