A vibrant screenprint that brings the feeling of wandering in the woods home with you. Understory invites you to look a little closer at the familiar and find something strange and beautiful hiding there.
Playing with the idea that a change in perspective can reveal a whole different story, the expected focal point of the print recedes while something that is usually overlooked moves to the foreground. Paired with a bold, non-traditional color palette, the familiar woodland scene transforms into something unexpected.
Understory is the second piece in a series from Starfangled Press that began with a simple question: What if I made some landscapes in non-traditional colors? What would that look like?
