A new series of work by Johanna Mueller, Animal Expressions builds on the artist’s fascination with human relationships to animals, and animal cognition in general. In her intricate wood engravings, Mueller combines the symbolic histories of specific animal forms with her own personal narratives to tell universal stories woven from the threads of anthropology, art, history, and spirituality.
